Just as I start this article let me write this, I think it would be disgraceful if Becky Lynch didn't leave Wrestlemania holding both women's championships and perhaps go on to unify the championships. I also think it would end the shows of shows on a very sad note for fans and leave a sour taste in their mouths. In the long run, though I think it would be worse for wrestling fans to see Kofi Kingston or Seth Rollins lose at Wrestlemania 35 and here's why.
Starting with Kingston, I think that currently right now he is the most "over" wrestler in the company. Which is an admittedly a controversial opinion, but right now he is getting bigger reactions in my view, than Becky Lynch. I also think that with the rollercoaster of emotions fans have been through following this story with Kingston, such as the moments when Kingston looked like he was going to beat Bryan at the elimination chamber, or when he was going to earn himself a match by winning a multi-man gauntlet on Smackdown a few weeks ago, only fans to be kicked in the teeth to see him lose on these occasions. This for me combined with how over Kofi is would lead to massive outrage from large sections of WWE fans just because of this, but they're not even the biggest reasons. As most of you who are reading this already know WWE has never had an African-American WWE champion, yes they have had African-American World champions such as Mark Henry and Booker T, but the World heavyweight championship was never held in as high regard as the WWE championship when those two men held it. This huge issue that fans have been demanding that WWE put right for years, coupled with the man who is chasing the title is a huge fan favourite, who has never properly had the company fully behind him and has never had a world championship would in my view lead to a huge backlash from fans. In my view, even the WWE had him win the title at that the next PPV the damage would have already been done and fans would be massively disappointed not see Kofi Kingston first world championship reign not start at the grandest stage of them all.
Now on to Seth Rollins, Unlike Kofi, the Kingslayer has had the company fully behind him as a main eventer, (When he was a heel.) and has been a multiple time world champion. But for me, this isn't who the man is to win the championship, it's about finally seeing Brock Lesnar lose the Universal championship to someone the fans are fully behind. Brock Lesnar has had a stranglehold over the Universal championship since 2017. This goes even further back than this though going towards Lensar's WWE World-Heavyweight championship reigns where no one who is a full-time wrestler and has the majority of the fanbase behind them has been able to defeat the Beast convincingly. This has boiled the fanbase's blood for a long time, including mine and in my view, if Rollins was to lose to Lesnar at Wrestlemania this would be a horrible turn of events because it would be like groundhog day. We have seen so many of the hardcore fan's favourites step to Lesnar and be slain, Balor, Styles, Bryan and the worst of all Strowman on multiple occasions. With the conqueror of the streak having his part-time contract, it means we wouldn't be seeing Lesnar for some time competing at a PPV again, and once again if Lesnar was to lose to Rollins at let's say Summerslam it would be in my view to little too late.
If any of the massive babyfaces going into New York have to lose in my view it would be Becky Lynch. We have already seen her as Women's champion recently as well which can't be said about the other two and for me, Becky Lynch can be protected well if she was to lose because it is a triple threat match and this could lead to a huge singles match between Lynch and Flair or Lynch and Rousey. If the latter is staying in the company beyond Wrestlemania this would also make up for the loss at Wrestlemania because it would be a fresh match. Especially between "The Man" and Ronda Rousey who have never faced off before and is a highly anticipated match. Hopefully, this doesn't happen though, and we get to see three huge feel-good victories at the Showcase of the Immortals, making Wrestlemania 35 one of the happiest PPV nights that WWE fans have had and probably will have, (Knowing WWE) for a long time.
