Unpopular Opinion: Baron Corbin is a great opponent for Kurt Angle in his last match at Wrestlemania!
So, let me just get this out of the way, I am by no means Baron Corbin's biggest fan. In fact, I don't really like him at all, and there are opponents I would rather see Kurt Angle face in his potential last wrestling match such as John Cena. Saying this, myself and other fans not really liking Baron Corbin is a good thing, because of the simple fact he is a Heel. Baron Corbin is a "genuine" Heel as well, by that I mean he is a wrestler that gets "genuine" Heel heat on a consistent basis, and for me is the only superstar currently in the WWE who in my view is a "genuine" Heel.
This is why I think that Baron Corbin makes a great opponent for Angle in his last match at the grandest stage of them all. Just imagine Baron Corbin, the already massively disliked Heel, who is especially hated by hardcore fans, going over a true wrestling great in his farewell match. Even perhaps going as far to ruin his final goodbyes to the WWE universe. Imagine the reactions he would get from fans on the night, and on the night next on Raw. Corbin's heat would be nuclear.
Following this match, Corbin would be made into a star and perhaps a genuine top heel on either brand he is on following the Showcase of the Immortals. For the legendary Kurt Angle, he would be able to give the rub to a young talent, which I feel Angle would like to do in the last match of his career. This is also something he wouldn't be able to give to an opponent such as John Cena even though that would very likely be a fantastic match.
Finally, something else going for this match is that the storyline for this match makes perfect sense. Angle and Corbin have been on again, off again rivals for a long while now since Angle leaving his GM role and then Corbin stealing his role in that ill-fated run for the character. So I understand the fact a lot of fans wanting a bigger name opponent for Kurt Angle's last match, or a more gifted wrestler between the ropes who would fit well for his last match. Such as Chad Gable or the former member of Team Angle, Shelton Benjamin. I do genuinely believe that Corbin and Angle could put on a good match for Wrestlemania. That turn Corbin into a star and even if he isn't one of a lot of fans favourites, it would be still good to see WWE make a new star in this modern era and see one of the old guard, pass the torch to the new.
